- Pearl I. Schaeffer, 91, of Rehrersburg, PA, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at her residence.
She was the wife of Earl S. Schaeffer, who died January 22, 2016.
Born in Reading, PA on October 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Annie (Schauer) Althouse.
Pearl was a member of Trinity UCC, Rehrersburg, where she sang in the choir for 50 years. She attended Bethel High School. Pearl was employed as a cafeteria aide at Tulpehocken School District for 20 years. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Rehrersburg Lions Club. Pearl enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrey, wife of Lane Painter, of Annville; a son, Lynn, husband of Cynthia Schaeffer, of Bernville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Amber, Lyndsay, Megan, Erin, and Drew; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Gabrielle, Morgan, Collin, Sydney, Ethan, and Preston; a brother, Carl Althouse, of Bernville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Brown; and brothers, Irvin Schock and Harvey Althouse.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
