Maria Elisabeth Wolff was baptized on 3 October 1728 in Oberhochstadt, Palatinate (presently a district of Hochstadt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), a daughter of Johann Jacob Wolff and Anna Margaretha Meyer.

She was known by her middle name, "Elisabeth".

She arrived in Philadelphia in the autumn of 1751 with her parents and future husband on the ship Queen of Denmark.

On 16 October 1753, she married Georg Jacob Ulrich at Host Church in Tulpehocken, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Mother of nine children.

Mrs. Elisabeth Ulrich of "Ober Hoch-Stadt, Europe" died on 4 March 1806 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 10 days (per Claude Weston Unger's transcription). She was buried at Summer Hill Cemetery (Saint Paul's Cemetery).

NOTE: A second transcription published later by Schuylkill Roots (Dellock and Rice) listed the age at death as 77 years, 5 months less 10 days (meaning 77 years, 4 months and 21 days), which would place the birth date at 11 October 1728, or after the date of baptism of 3 October 1728. Preference is given to the earlier Unger transcript pending location of the original register. Importantly, the separator "." used in German records for ages and dates is not a decimal point but instead is equivalent to "-" or "/" in modern American records.

41 "Maxwell Cunningham Byers was a brilliant and hard - nosed railroad administrator. Rising through the railroading ranks as a civil engineer he was described as engaging, who followed no fads and “...a capacity for work that was astounding.” He was practical, a student of railroad operations, and a problem solver whose solutions were sound and economically realistic. His short career culminated in his appointment as President of the Western Maryland Railway in 1920 [the youngest railroad president in the country]. Byers political and business skills helped the Western Maryland reach record profits and would be severely tested during the Great Depression. Baltimore's B&O Railroad Museum exhibit, Maxwell Cunningham Byers: A Distinguished Life and A Tragic Death(beginning June 2014), explores his life and death.” [He was shot in his office by an older, disgruntled vice president who then shot himself.]
A couple weeks later the board of directors' voted for a substantial pension to be used in the education of Mr. Byers' five sons. (Time 20 Oct 1930)

43 "Moses Mendenhall was born in Concord, in Chester County, about 1693; was the Son of Benjamin Mendenhall, an early Settler in that place; in his youth he was religiously inclined, loving the Conversation of such, and would "chuse" places of Retirement to wait upon God; he married about the Year 1719, and soon after settled in "Kennet", where his habitation was the remainder of his Life; as he grew in Years, he grew in the Truth, and in the year 1724 he appeared in the Ministry, first, in a few Words, but increased in his Gift, he continuing faithful, that in time he had a seasonable, refreshing Testimony being attended with the power of Truth, and often affected the Spirits of the Hearers. He traveled in Truth's Service in Maryland and the Jerseys, and sometimes visited the Meetings of Friends near home, which was generally well received where his lot was cast: He was serviceable in the Discipline of the Church, being rightly gifted for it and had a clear discerning of a Spirit of undue Liberty that seem to so prevail some about that time, which afterwards manifested it self, to the Exercise of the Faithful. His last "Sicknefs" was the Small-pox, which was heavy upon him, but he bore his affliction patiently, and being sensible his End was near, he signified he was thankful to the Lord that he was liked to be taken from the Troubles of this World, exhorting Friends to "Faithfulnefs". And thus in a resigned Frame of mind he departed this life the day of the 9th month, in the year 1731, aged about 38 years, and was buried in "Kennet" Burying Grounds, a Minister about 7 years."
