Van Dyke, 92, of 415 Kem Rd., Marion, Indiana died August 1, 2003 at 4:45 in the Marion General Hospital. He was born June 18, 1911 in Danville, Illinois to the late Dorsey and Jennie(Davis)Van Dyke. He married Betty (DeMotte) Lindley. Funeral services were held at 1:00 on Tuesday , August 5, 2003 at the Temple Congregational Church, 1006 North Western Avenue, Marion, IN. with the Rev. Mary Wiseman officiating. Burial was held at the Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN. He is survived by his wife Betty Van Dyke of Marion, IN, daughters Ann Hadden of Glassboro, N.J., Janet E. Clark of Lafayette, IN, son John P. Lindley, Jr., Richmond, In; nephews Dick Van Dyke of Malibu, Beach CA., Jerry Van Dyke of Cancun, Mexico also 8 grandchildren and 10 gr-grandchildren. He retired from C & H. Shoe Store. He attended Temple Congregational Church, he was a US Army WWII Veteran where he served in the Medical Corp. He was an avid Cubs fan and played golf in his younger years. Memorials may be made go the charity of donor's choice. He was preceded in death by his brother Loren Wayne Van Dyke.
