  Big Timber Pioneer, August 4, 1982 Clarence F. Shipton, 79, long-time resident of Miles City, died early Thursday morning, July 22 at the Sunset Motel. Mr. Shipton was employed at the motel while the owners were on vacation. He was born in Big Timber Sept. 9, 1902, the son of Thomas and Ida Shipton. He attended school in Big Timber. In 1940 he worked as a truck driver and later worked for Yellowstone National Park as a bus driver and mailman until 1952. Mr. Shipton married Grace Brinkman in Livingston, Sept. 27, 1952. Mr. ad Mrs. Shipton owned and operated Whites Motel in Miles City from 1952 until 1971 when they retired. They have resided in Miles City since. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of MIles City. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Services were held July 26 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Son Funeral Home. Rev.
