- John was probably his baptismal name as he seems to have always gone by Phillip. Immigrant from Nassau, Germany in 1852. Worked as a tailor for Hager's department store in Lancaster.
Death of Philip Keller
Philip Keller, a respected citizen of Lancaster, died on Tuesday evening about 7 o'clock at his home, No. 468 High street. Mr. Keller had been in ill health for a year, suffering from heart trouble. Had he lived until March 2, he would have reached his sixty-second year. Deceased was a member of the following societies: Red Jacket Tribe, No. 44, I.O.R.M., Washington Conclave, No. 9, of the Seven Wise Men, Teutonia Lodge, No. 165, K. of P., and the Maennerchor and Liederkranz. He was a tailor by occupation and was employed by several of our fine merchant tailors. A wife and five children survive.

Death of Philip H. Keller.
Philip H. Keller, of No. 468 High street, died on Tuesday after a lingering illness, aged 61 years. He was a native of Nassau, Germany, but has been in this country since 1852. His brother, Henry C. Keller, died only a few weeks ago. He was for fifteen years secretary of Washington Conclave, No. 9, Seven Wise Men, secretary for several years of the Fulton Death Beneficial society, a member of Teutonia Lodge, Knights of Pythias, and Red Jacket Tribe of Red Men. His wife and these children survive: Henry, William, Fred, George, Mrs. Fred Huhnergarth, Misses Kate, Annie and Lizzie. -- Lancaster Intelligencer, Lancaster, PA, 27Feb1892, p. 2.
