- Mrs. Catherine Keller Dead.
The death of Mrs. Catherine Keller of York, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Spong, No. 247 South Ann street, on Christmas Day, which brought to a close a contemplated happy Christmas gathering. She was seventy-four years old and had come from York to participate in a family Christmas party in her daughter's home. Death followed but a few minutes' illness. Mrs. Keller was until six months ago a resident of Lancaster, having gone to York to live with another daughter. She was a member of Christ Lutheran church, this city. Mrs. Keller is survived by a brother, John Notnagel(sic), of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Kline, and the following children: Henry P. Keller, William C. Keller, Mrs. F. Huehnergarth, George Keller, Mrs. John Rudisill, Mrs. Wm. Spong, Mrs. William Slagel, of York, and Frederick Keller. Fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, on South Ann street, on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in this city. -- The Lancaster Examiner, Lancaster, PA, 30Dec1914.
Immigrant from Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany in 1852. Her parents were incorrectly listed as John Nothnagel and Katie Ossmun on her death certificate by a son-in-law. Kate was baptised Catharina Nothnagel in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Griesheim, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany on 7Nov1841. Her parents were Johan Henrich Nothnagel and Anna Elisabetha Aßmus.
