- Mary Ann Gromis, 71, of Womelsdorf died Friday, June 10, 2011, of natural causes in her residence.
She was the wife of Ethan A. Gromis.
Mary Ann was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Stouchsburg
She was the daughter of Lawrence P. Keppley, Myerstown, and the late Debora P. (Oxenreiter) Keppley.
She was a 1957 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School and the McCann School of Business; a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Womelsdorf; a member of the Newmanstown Ladies Auxillary; and on the Womelsdorf 250th Anniversary Committee.
Mary Ann was a secretary and receptionist for Dr. Robert Schweizer until her retirement.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by one son, Steven L., husband of Donna Gromis, Heidelberg Twp; one daughter, Susan D. Gromis, Womelsdorf; two brothers, Kenneth L. and James P. Keppley, both of Marion Twp.; one sister, Cynthia MacFetrich, Oley; one grandson, David Roop; two godchildren, Jason R. Shoff and Jessica R. MacFetrich; two stepgranddaughters, Jamie Shelow and Jennifer L. Gernert; and by her beloved dog, "Hey Dog."
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Zion United Church of Christ, 12 S. 2nd St., Womelsdorf, PA 19567, with the Rev. William A. Pifer Foote, officiating.
Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran & Reformed Cemetery, Womelsdorf.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hetrick-Mull Funeral Home Inc., 27 E. High St., Womelsdorf, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
