Sarah Leach, 87
Taken By Death
Sarah Ida Leach, 87, died in Kalispell Wednesday morning. Mrs. Leach, who first came to the Flathead in the early 1890s, lived here until 1908, and moved to the West coast. In 1925 she returned to the Flathead and has made her home here since. Mrs. Leach was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1939.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Kalispell and Ray Leach of Seattle; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Voss of Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Florence Schluter of Salt Lake City; two brothers and two sisters, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Leach have been set for Saturday at 2 p. m. from the Waggener & Campbell chapel with the Rev. Ralph Werner of Columbia Falls officiating. Burial will follow in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

Funeral Held
Funeral services for Sarah Ida Leach were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Waggener and Campbell chapel with the Rev. Ralph Werner of Columbia Falls officiating. During the services Grace McDonald sang two hymns with Mrs. J. M. Carlson at the organ. Burial was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery. Pall bearers were J. V. Miller, Lloyd Graham Sr., R. E. Ward, Glen S. Buck, Alvin Slack and Charles Jellison.
Sarah Ida Leach was born at Shannon, Ill., on April 24, 1865 to Nathaniel and Leah Afflerbaugh.
When a small child she moved with her family to Grand Island, Neb. In 1884 she was married to Frederick E. Leach at Grand Island.
A few years later the family moved to Washington and in 1893 they came to Kalispell, where they resided for 10 years. Returning to the Pacific coast for a while, they again returned to Montana where they took up a homestead at Broadview in 1915.
In 1925 Mr. and Mrs. Leach came to make their home on a farm in the LaSalle district. They retired from active farming in 1930 but continued living near their son at LaSalle.
Mrs. Leach was a charter member of the Central Christian church of Kalispell.
Mr. Leach preceded her in death in April 1939.
Surviving are two sons, Ray M. Leach of Seattle, and Robert Leach of LaSalle; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Vose of Vancouver, Wash. and Mrs. Florence Schluter of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Grant of Fontana, Calif., Ira of Olympia, Wash., and Jason Afflerbaugh of Billings; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Steiger of Calleway, Neb., and Mrs. Nora Graham of Whitefish; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and other relatives.

Flathead Area Woman Dies at Kalispell at 87
Kalispell, Mont., March 20--Mrs. Sarah Ida Leach, 87, died here yesterday. Mrs. Leach first came to the Flathead in the early 1890s, living here until 1908, when she moved to the west coast. In 1925 she returned to the Flathead and made her home here since. Her husband, Fred, died here in 1939.
She is survived by two sons, Robert of Kalispell and Ray of Seattle; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Voss (sic-Vose) of Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Florence Schluter of Salt Lake City; two brothers and two sisters.
