  Lester Milton Schaeffer Jr., 69, passed away June 21, 2008, in Sentara Leigh Hospital. A native of Bern Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Stella and Lester Milton Schaeffer, Sr. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief warrant officer-4 after 30 years of service and also worked 11 years at Titan. He was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife Betty Schaeffer; a daughter, Cindy Rinehart and her husband Ken; his son, Bob Schaeffer and his wife Julie, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Phyllis Mertz of Reading, Pa.; his brother, Rick Schaeffer; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Schaeffer. All services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
