  Sandra Mae Leitner, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg. Sandra was born on October 22, 1941 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Clair Neely Carruthers and Luella Mae (Goeller) Grassmyer. Sandra and Harry Leitner were happily married for 54 long and wonderful years. Before her retirement, Sandra worked as a secretary for Susquehanna Township. She was a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and was consistently involved at her church, Progress Church of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading books, traveling with her sisters, spending time with her cat, "Stanley" and working in her flower garden. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Leitner and her sister, Norma Forshey. Surviving are her loving son, Keith A. Leitner of Philadelphia; her three sisters, Patricia Lauver of Thompsontown, Deborah Tabb and her husband Bill of Thompsontown and Madelyn Carruthers-Landis and her late husband B.J. of Ebensburg; her step-brother, Leon Grassmyer and his wife Suzanne of Lewistown and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services for Sandra will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home in Harrisburg, PA with Pastor Barbara Maurice officiating. There will be a public viewing from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. and a procession to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the conclusion of the service. A luncheon will take place at Gilligan's Bar & Grill Restaurant in Harrisburg following the committal service. All are welcome to attend.
