  Harry Bickel, Sr, Firesteel homesteader, passed away July 28 in Mobridge Hospital at age 87. Funeral services were Aug 2 at TL Our Savior's with Rev J E Coates officiating. Interment in TL cemetery. Casketbearers: Bob Byrne, Louis Archambault, William Frank, Paul Goins, Marles Malloy, Albert Fjeldseth, Leroy Warner, Russell Bornong. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements. Harry Bickel was born Oct 16, 1885, at Rehrersburg, PA, son of Edward and Sarah Bickel. In about 1910 he came to Isabel to work on housing construction. In a year he homesteaded 7 miles north of Firesteel. In 1913 he married Anna Brown at McIntosh. They spent the rest of their years on this ranch. He is survived by 2 sons: Ed and Harry Jr both of Firesteel; three sisters: Ellen Siebert of Richland, PA; Anna Kalber of Parksburg, PA; Carrie Walters of Rehrersburg, PA; 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1967; 6 brothers; 4 sisters.
