- Brother and Two Sisters Die Within Three Weeks
Mrs. Carrie Wagner Latest Victim Of Typhoid at Bernville--Sisters Die Within Four Days.
Bernville, Oct. 17--Typhoid fever has made terrible inroads into the Katzaman-Kisling-Wagner families of this place and Womelsdorf. The latest fatality is that of Mrs. Carrie (Katzaman) Wagner, who died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Katzaman last evening. Her husband, Alpheus Wagner, is convalescing from typhoid. A brother, Elmer Katzaman, died of typhoid several weeks ago in the same house. He was the first member of the family to be afflicted. A sister, Laura (Mrs. Lloyd Kisling), of Womelsdorf, died last Sunday of the same disease, and, her husband, who is ignorant of her death, is ill with typhoid in the Homeopathic Hospital, Reading. Mrs. Kisling will be buried at Bernville tomorrow. Another brother, Oswald Katzaman, is seriously ill of typhoid at his home in Richland, Lebanon County. Mrs. Alpheus C. Wagner was 22 years old. She leaves a two-months-old baby. Mrs. Kisling was 23 years old and is survived by these children, the eldest of whom is aged four years: Helen, Verna, John and a baby of one week, which are being cared for by the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Kisling. Of the Katzaman family there remain the parents and Howard and Calvin, of Sinking Spring, and Oswald, of Richland.

Late Mrs. Alpheus Wagner
Bernville, Oct 19 (Special)--Carrie (nee Katzaman), wife of Alpheus Wagner, died of typhoid fever at this place, aged 22 years, 11 months and 5 days. Her husband and an infant babe survive. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Katzaman are the parents of deceased. These brothers survive: Howard and Calvin, Sinking Spring, and Oswald, of Richland. Deceased was an active member of Frieden's Lutheran Church, of Bernville. A twin sister, Laura, wife of Lloyd Kisling, preceded her in death four days. A brother, Elmer Katzaman, died from typhoid fever four weeks ago in the same house. Funeral Saturday Oct. 19 at 1:30. Services will be held by Rev. D. D. Trexler in Frieden's Lutheran Church. Interment in Haag's cemetery. Undertaker Thomas C. Kalbach has charge.
