  Nye Sr., Charles Charles H. ""Joe"" Nye Sr., 73, Sinking Spring, died Dec. 28, 2009, of natural causes at his residence. Born in Sinking Spring, he was the son of the late Paul D. and Helen E. (Ruth) Nye. He attended Sinking Spring High School. He was employed as an operating engineer at E.J. Breneman for over 40 years until retirement. He is survived by his companion, Sophie ""Polly"" Lesczynski, with whom he resided; five sons: Paul H. Nye and his life partner, Jerome Hofer, Philadelphia; Raymond C. Nye, husband of Lori, Bernville; Charles H. Nye Jr., Shillington; David A. Nye, Sinking Spring; and Jody W. Nye and his life partner, Lisa Ritz, Hazleton. Also surviving are a brother, David P. Nye, Minersville; a sister, June R. Reinhart, Fritztown; six grandchildren: Renee, Charlotte, Bradley, Lauren, Paul and Hunter; and four great-grandchildren: Damein, Briar, Jadelynn and Cheyenne. He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel G. Nye. Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville, with Pastor Krista Keisling officiating. Interment at Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville. Friends are invited to call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
