- Mildred E. (Moore) Miller, 91, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at Berks Heim. She was the wife of the late James F. Miller, Jr., who died Sept. 2, 1992.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Paul I. and Elizabeth G. (Strock) Moore.
She was a 1944 graduate of Morgantown High School.
She retired in 2004 after 35 years from Mildred Miller Beauty Salon, Sinking Spring.
She was a member of St. John’s Reformed, Sinking Spring, where she was a past member of the Bell Choir and Senior Choir.
She was a member of Wernersville Lions Club, West Wyomissing Lioness, Horizon Singers, Sinking Spring Ladies Club, Historical Society of Sinking Spring, Republican Committee of Women, Sinking Spring Library Board, and Rebecca’s Lodge. She was past president of Wernersville Senior Citizens Building Trust, past vice president of Sinking Spring Seniors, and held past offices of Wernersville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son, Curtis J. Miller, husband of Deborah S., Wylie, TX; three daughters, Dolores E., wife of Richard Chasse, Jacksonville, FL, Phyllis E. Sands, Myerstown, and Deborah C., wife of Marlin W. Maurer, Sinking Spring; a brother, Ernst Moore, St. Lawrence; a sister, Rena Massey, TX; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren, with two on the way.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, Feb. 8th, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
