  Myrtle was the first born daughter of Elva & Myrtle Mae (Williams) Foote. Her dad was used to moving around quite a lot in his childhood, so their family did some as well. Her older brothers were born in Boyd county, Nebraska. She was born on the farm outside Quinn in Pennington county. Then they lived in Lead which was in Meade county, and then back to Quinn again. John & Myrtle were married in Rapid City, South Dakota on the last day of the year in 1931. Eight children were born to their union, the first seven in the Blacks Hills of South Dakota, and their last child in the Yakima Valley. Myrtle was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. In her retirement she answered telephones at her son, Bill's wrecking yard office and tow company. Her final years were lived in Spokane, Washington. She lived in assisted living because she was bound to a wheelchair for 25 years. Her spine had been damaged in an automobile accident, which the pinched nerve slowly caused a loss of mobility. Her apple pies and Sunday dinners are missed. Thankful, she instructed from her wheelchair and the recipes were not lost.
