  Lyle L. Williams was the son of Lee E. and Doris E. (Putnam) Williams. He grew up on the homestead and attended Pleasant Valley rural school until the 5th grade when he attended the Quinn School and was a 1945 graduate of Quinn High School. Lyle entered the Army, where and was stationed in Mississippi and Florida. After his honorable discharge on September 6, 1946, he returned to his father’s ranch. Lyle was married to Viola Hamm on March 22, 1947, in Rapid City. They soon moved to Interior where Lyle was the Standard Bulk Agent. In 1950, they moved to Owanka and bought a ranch . In 1969, Lyle began in the livestock order buying business as a side job, but grew into buying and selling 16-18 million dollars of cattle a year. In 1976, the family moved to Rapid City and purchased the Rapid City Livestock Auction. In 1978, he sold the auction barn and moved northeast of Box Elder where they resided until moving to Wall in 2004. Church of Wall. Survivors include two sons , one daughter, six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother a host of other relatives and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, on July 10, 2015; his parents; three brothers Gene, Verl, and Forrest Williams; one great-granddaughter Makayla Madeline Mattox as an infant; and one great-grandson Jacob Williams as an infant.
