PRETTY WEDDING IN SHEAKLEYVILLE
A pretty wedding took place last evening in Sheakleyville when Miss Madge Dick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Dick was united in marriage to Frank Faller, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Faller, Ohio Street, this city. The vows were exchanged in the living room of the Dick Family before the fireplace banked with autumn flowers, palms and ferns. Rev. Deems, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Sheakleyville officiated.
The bride was attired in a gown of tan georgette with slippers and hose of corresponding shades and carried an arm bouquet of Columbia rose buds. Miss Inez Dick attended her sister as maid of honor and wore a frock of rose beige georgette. Her flowers were an arm bouquet of Ophelia roses. Ralph Dick, a brother of the bride, attended Mr. Faller.
Following the ceremony, a wedding supper was served in the home of the bride's parents. Places were laid for 16 guests including a few close friends and members of the families. A large wedding cake occupied the center of the table and the remaining decorations were carried in bridal appointments.
Mr. and Mrs. Faller are residing at the home of the groom's parents, Ohio Street, for the present.
The bride is a charming young woman and has a wide circle of friends in Sharon. She was formerly in charge of the office of Dr. Caroline Gilliland and made her home with Mr. and Mr. Fred Rodecker, Alderman Avenue.
Mr. Faller shares popularity with his bride and is employed with the Sharon Steel Hoop Company.
Madge Faller is now 90 years old and lives on Wood Street. She has lived there since 1932, when she moved here from Sharon. She was born on Sept. 2, 1906 and married Frank Faller on Nov. 8, 1928. They raised three sons - Howard, Glenn and Lee, all graduates of Brookfield High School. Mr. Faller died in 1978. Mrs. Faller remembers the tornado of 1947 and the damage to the trees on Wood Street. She says that Brookfield has been a nice place to live and that she has very, very good neighbors. She attends the Central Christian Church and loves to piece quilts.
