OH Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 25 Jan 1907 "Silas Johnston died Saturday evening at the home of his mother, Mrs. Samuel Johnston, on West Main street. The deceased was born in Jackson township May 25, 1835, and from the time he was three months old to the day of his death was afflicted with epilepsy. Mr. Johnston was a great Bible student and a member of the Presbyterian church. Besides his aged mother he is survived by three brothers and three sisters – J. F. and R. T. Johnston of Youngstown, Stratton Johnston of Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. M. E. Hadley, Mrs. Alexander Dickson and Mrs. Margaret Kirk of Canfield. Funeral services held Tuesday afternoon from the family residence were conducted by Rev. Wm. Dickson. Interment in the village cemetery."
