"North Jackson - The people of Jackson were very much pained to learn of the death of Thompson Kirk of Rosemont, which occurred Saturday, Nov. 19. He was a man widely known and respected of great energy and ability, kind in his family, generous and thoughtful in the community. His loss will be long and deeply felt by all who knew him.
Ellsworth - Thompson Kirk, one of the most prominent business men of Rosemont, died last Saturday evening, after an illness of several weeks of heart disease. His age was about 55 years. He had been engaged in the lumber business for a number of years and had a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He will be greatly missed, not only by his family and immediate friends but by the community in general. A wife and two children, a son and daughter, survive him. Funeral services were held in this place to-day. Interment in the village cemetery."
"Resolutions
Whereas, the inscrutable providence of an all-wise Supreme Ruler has called from family and friends our earnest, active and efficient co-worker, Thompson Kirk, to try the realities of "that bourne whence no traveler returns"
Resolved, That we bow in humble, trustful submission to the will of Him who order the all things for the good of His creatures, and His own glory.
Resolved, That in the death of Thompson Kirk, the Farmers' National Bank of Canfield has lost a faithful and useful member, whose counsel was always conservative and safe, his family a kind and loving husband, and indulgent provident father, the community an enterprising energetic and successful businessman, and his country a high-minded, patriotic citizen. We will cherish with tender recollections his genial ways and many virtues.
Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on the minutes of our journal, published in the Canfield Dispatch, and that a copy of them be presented to his bereaved family.
Passed unanimously by the Board of Directors at their meeting Dec. 10, 1892.
Attest: H. A. Manchester - By order of Board of Directors, Cashier"
