William Haines
William Raymond "Bill" Haines, 67, of Wapello, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Iowa City.
Born Sept. 18, 1919, at Trenton, he was the son of Glen and Anna Moxley Haines.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an independent truck driver and had worked for the city of Wapello and Louisa County. He was a member of the American Legion, Oakville, and a life member of the V.F.W., Wapello.
Surviving are three sons, Lynn Haines, Ambon, Indonesia, Lee Haines, Mason City, and Tim Haines, West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Doris Glover, Mount Pleasant, and Erma McCormick, Ollie; three brothers, Kenneth Haines, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Dean Haines and Donald Haines, both of Winfield; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home beginning Thursday afternoon.
Services for Mr. Haines will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Wigand and the Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewoods Cemetery, Trenton.
