  Tom was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was the fourth son born in a family of five boys to Clarence Everette Moxley and Edith Irene Shumaker. In 1958 he married Sharon Cantwell also of Mt. Pleasant. Together they had three children; Catherine born in Mt. Pleasant, son William and daughter Carey born in Burlington, IA. Tom's career path took them to Southern California in the 1960s then to the Phoenix Metropolitan area in the 1970s. There he started several successful technology businesses. Two of his four brothers survive him; oldest brother Doyle of Glendale, AZ and youngest brother Terry of Council Bluffs, IA. Brother Devon (Don) died in 1996 and John William died in infancy.
