- Martha Elizabeth Beery
Martha Elizabeth Beery of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Salem, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2000 at the age of 84.
She was born in Salem, Iowa, to W.W. (Walker) and Grace Marie Montgomery. Martha was a member of the Windcrest United Methodist Church and a former member of the Randolph AFB Officers Wives Club.
She is survived by her husband, LTC H.F. (Hal) Beery of San Antonio, Texas; one son, David Lee Beery and his wife Cathy of Laurel, Montana; one daughter, Susan Kay Agnew and her husband Ben of Billings, Montana; one sister, Marye Sourwine of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; sister-in-law Ruth Montgomery of York, PA, and Wilma Wilson of Hillsboro, IA; 3 grandchildren, David Dickson, Christopher Levi, and Grace Marie Beery all of Montana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Hoyt E. Montgomery and his wife Mary; sister-in-law Margaret E. Turbett; and brothers-in-law Melvin C. Smith and Phillip Sourwine.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at 10:00 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant where Rev. Jeffrey Crawford will officiate. Her body has been cremated, with private inurnment of her ashes in the Salem East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7400 Louis Pasteur, Suite 200, San Antonio, Texas 78229. The family will receive friends for fellowship and a luncheon at the church after services.
