- Dale Eyler died at the Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, after 11 weeks of serious illness. Born, February 11, 1898, near Stockport, Iowa, son of Conrad and Alice Miller Eyler. He was a retired farmer, farming in Lee and Van Buren Counties. Member of the Big Mound United Methodist Church. Lifetime resident of Big Mound and Hillsboro Communities. Married to Nina Moxley, who preceded him in death. June 3, 1922, he married Pluma Sargent at Middletown, Iowa, who survives. Surviving also, one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Wilma) Wilson, Hillsboro, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, one sister, Mrs. Leland (Kathryn) McCosh, Winfield, two brothers, Elmo, Mount Union, Keith of Arkansas, one niece and several nephews.
Services, Thursday, April 17, 1975, 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Christian Church. Rev. Scott Holmes and Rev. L. H. Smith, officiating. Interment in Hillsboro Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Big Mound United Methodist Church.
