  Funeral Services For Mrs. J.I. Beal Wednesday After being a patient suffer with cancer for nearly six months, Mrs. J. I. Beal passed away at her home here Sunday morning, November 10. She reached the age of 69 years and 15 days. Mina F. Conrad was born near Trivoli, Illinois on October 15, 1866. With her parents she came to Nebraska in 1875 and they homesteaded eight miles southwest of where Blue hill now stands. There she grew to womanhood in the pioneer days of this part of Nebraska. On October 17, 1886 she was united in marriage to J.I. Beal and they continued to live in the same community in which they grew up. In 1930 they left the farm and moved to Blue Hill, where they have since resided. She was baptized when six months old. She came into full membership in the Methodist church in 1894 when there was organized a class at the school house known as the Elm Creek school. Later she moved her membership to Cowles and when she and her husband came to Blue Hill they transferred their membership to the Blue Hill Methodist church. In her going she leaves to mourn her husband, an adopted son, Dow, her aged mother, Mrs. Sarah M. Conrad who is nearing her 92d birthday, four brothers, William Conrad of Arnold, Neb., Frank Conrad of Aurora, Neb., Lewis Conrad of Grand Island, and Guy Conrad of Blue Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Chaplin of Cowles, and Mrs. Ruby Boomer of Blue Hill. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. R.H. Carr, at the Methodist Church in Blue Hill Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. L.W. Giffith, Mrs. Ed Schwentker, L.A. Heath and Ferd Peisiger. Burial was in the Blue Hill Cemetery. Blue Hill Leader 15 Nov 1935 Front Page
