  Born the only child of Samuel Baum Rigg MD (1879-1969) and Mazie Virginia Geyer (1878-1963), Dorothy aka "Riggie" was raised alongside her cousin, Catherine Annabelle Rigg (1906-1995) essentially as sisters, after her parents divorce in her early childhood. School years were spent at boarding school at St Joseph College in Emmitsburg MD from childhood until marriage. Summers were spent at her grandparents' "Bungalow" at the Rigg farm in Ephrata, PA. Riggie first fell in love with Donald when he came to visit his sister, Lily, at St Joseph's, but he didn't notice her until her late teens. They wed 10 Nov 1923 in the church rectory in Ephrata, PA and went on to have 5 children together. Affectionately known as "Mom Mom" to her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Riggie lived to be 104 years old. Much of her life can be read in the biography of her life called "RIGGIE A Journey from 5th Street" by Donald L Leifert c.2004
