  Fernando Alfredo Solis Zelaya (1919/1968) was the son of his mother, Libia Solis Zelaya and his father, Francis James Gest (nicknamed "Francisco"). Fernando’s son, Alfredo Delcarmen Solis Fonseca, explained how his father was killed in a tragic accident. He wrote to me: “My father was a Civil Engineer working on a Canalization in the Atlantic Coast of Costa Rica, in Puerto Limon. On Friday, October 25th 1968, Fernando was flying in a little airplane of 4 places, on a very dark and rainy afternoon. When they tried to land, a strong wind crashed the airplane on land killing my father, the pilot and the mechanic. Exactly 50 years ago.”
