- John E. Walker, Jr.
John Ellsworth Walker Jr. of Wrigthtsville sound died of a heart attack about 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
He is survived by his wife. the former Estelle Stokley, two sons, David and Keever Walker of Wrightsville Sound, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Walker, Sr., his grandfather Dr. E. F. Keever, Wilmington, 3 sisters, Mrs. Howard Lentz, Clifton Heights, Pa., Mrs. Harvey A. Lewis, Butte, Montana, and Mrs. D. A. Sutton, Wrightsville Sound and one brother, Robert M. Walker, Clermont, Florida.
Funeral services were held from St. Andrews Episcopal Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Reverend R. L. Sturgis officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wesley Higgins Jr., Victor Valentine, Jimmy Smith, Billy Rivers, Louis Dizor, and Louis Standland.
Honorary pallbearers were D. Loughlin, Joe Straker, J. O. Hinton, Walter Taylor, Edward Southerland, Roy Hawkins, Sammie Miller, Gregory Farrow, Burris Smith, J. R. Hollis, Bob Ashworth, Archie Stone, John V. Thompson, Carpt. Eddie Hannaman, R. G. Storkey, Jr., Richard Meadows, Coley Reynolds, W. H. Lane, and Billy Dillon.
