Dorothy Lewis, 76
Dorothy Elizabeth Lewis of Walkerville died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 21, 1925, in Warwick [Kent] County, Rhode Island to John E. and Marion E. (Keever) Walker. She was raised and educated in North Carolina and married Harvey Lewis in Florence, S.C., on Aug. 5, 1942. Together they lived in Sarasota, Fla., Macon, Ga., and Wilmington, Del., [N.C.] before moving to Butte in the spring of 1946. They moved to Walkerville in 1950.
Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was the most important part of her life. She belonged to the First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in many functions there, including serving as church librarian for many years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Eugene Lewis; brother, John Walker; and sister, Betsy Batson.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Lewis of Walkerville,; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Linda Lewis of Vallejo, Calif., Donald and Cindy Lewis of Missoula and Lance Lewis and Michell Partlow [Michele Partelow] of Centerville; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana Noll of Helena, Marian and A. Lynn Johnson of Houston, Texas, Linda and Dave Stewart of Billings and Rhonda anad Wade Richards of Helena; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Nicky and Howard Lentz of Clifton Heights, Pa.; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Delores [Dolores] Walker of Claremont ,[Clermont] Fla.
Visitation will be Tuesday at noon in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral Servieds will follow at 2 p.m. in the church and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
