  Dorothy Evangeline LeGates joined her heavenly family on August 5, 2014. Preceding her in death are her parents, Florence and Frank LeGates, and her son David Frank LeGates. She is survived by her grandsons, daughter-in-law, two sisters, many extended family members and friends; and her beloved cat, Elmo. Dorothy was a nurse at Lakewood Hospital for more than 30 years, so it is only fitting that her last days were spent there, where she had ministered to so many patients over the course of her career. Known for her beautiful handiwork, Dorothy continued to use her craft into her 90s. Even after she moved into assisted living, she continued to share her beautiful knitting and crocheting handiwork and teach others. She is a member of the Bible Presbyterian Church of N. Olmsted, Ohio. The family thanks the caregivers and friends of Lakewood Senior Health Campus and the staff at Lakewood Hospital for their support of Dorothy and her family.
