  Clement was a soldier stationed at Fort Armstrong at Rock Island (IL) and two Indians, Chewacherah and Who-raj-jin-kah from the Winnebago Tribe, killed him and another soldier, John Blottenburg. From an account the trial of the men in the Weekly Messenger on 21 Jun 1820.
