  Funeral services for James C. Van Dyke 62, Greenup were held at 2p.m. in Hiles Funeral Home at Greenup. Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery.(Van Dyke family plot) Mr. Van Dyke died Thursday in the veterans hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Greenup, January 10, 1890 , the son of James W. and Jeanette Peters Van Dyke. He was a veteran of WWI (Pvt. Illinois -Battery-50 Art.Company C. Surviving are the widow Ella; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Craig, Belleville, Illinois, Wanda Brussels, Wichita Falls, Texas, Rosemary of Eureka, Illinois and Dorothy of Charleston; two sisters Mrs. Golda Crutcher, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Pearl shoe, Peach Orchard Arkansas ; two brothers Dewey of Richmond , Indiana and Walter of Casey. (Jim was gassed during the war and suffered greatly from the effects the rest of his lifetime leaving him unable to hold gainful employment for any length of time)
