- "Lena S. (Brubacher) Blessing, 63, of Lancaster, entered into rest on Sunday, November 21, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy.
She was born in Oakley, Maryland, a daughter of the late Eli G. and Priscilla W. Stauffer Brubacher. She was the wife of the late Clyde E. Blessing.
Lena was a member of the First Deaf Mennonite Church and worked for Patterson Dental Supply from 1995 to 2003, and in earlier years had been employed as a seamstress for New Holland Lingerie and Singing Needles Sewing Factories. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid Phillies fan. Her other hobbies include knitting, quilting, crocheting, cross stitching, and puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Ella (Kevin) Clare, of Pequea, Lydia Blessing, and Glen Blessing, both of Lancaster; 2 grandchildren, Kylee and Ethan Clare; 6 brothers, Harvey (Alice) Brubacher of Ephrata, Willis (Betty) Brubacher of Dover, Henry (Joyce) Brubacher of Leesburg, OH, Jacob (Mary Lou) Brubacher of Leonardtown, MD, Irvin (Ruby) Brubacher of Elkhorn, KY, and Earl (Ellen) Brubacher of Alliance, OH; 2 sisters, Susie (Edward) Martin of Leonardtown, MD, and Alice (Philip) Weaver of Ohio.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Brubacher and a brother, Eli Brubacher.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, December 3rd, and 9 to 10 AM, Saturday, December 4th, at Mellinger Mennonite Church, Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM, Saturday, with Pastors Jeffrey Hoffer and Henry Deller officiating. Interment will follow in the Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
