Discharged on Surgeon's certificate on February 15, 1863. The 167th Pennsylvania Regiment was officially mustered into federal service on 12 November 1862 and consisted entirely of men from Berks County. On 12 August 1863, the regiment was mustered out. This regiment was exclusively from Berks county, and was organized with the following field officers: Charles A. Knoderer, Colonel Joseph De Puy Davis, Lieutenant Colonel Gustavus A.
