- Betty Scipione, 72, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 18, 2021. Born in Bellefonte, PA, she was the daughter of the late Georgeanna Stamm and Tony Sabin.
Betty was raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bald Eagle High School. She moved to Niagara Falls, NY, and married her beloved husband, Richard D. Scipione, on June 20, 1970 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Mr. Scipione predeceased her on November 1, 2015.
Betty began working at Bell Aerospace and the Chamber of Commerce before joining her husband to operate Scipione Brothers Meat Market. Betty's son, David, continues to run the business today as Scipione's Italian Deli & Catering.
Betty was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed golfing, reading and crocheting. Above all, she especially enjoyed being with her cherished cats, Boo and Annie, as well as spending time at her winter home in Punta Gorda, FL, with her family and friends.
Mrs. Scipione is survived by her two sons, Richard (Debbie) Scipione and David (Jeanine) Scipione; her grandchildren, Brandan Grier, Nicholas Scipione, Christopher Scipione, Dylan Scipione and Addisyn Scipione; one great-grandchild, Atoli Grier; siblings, Linda (Tom) Siuta, Christina Mader, Mary Kurtz, and Leonard Stamm; as well as her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Karen Boltz.
There will be no prior visitation or services at this time.
