- William Morris, son of Morris Morris and Gwentley Thomas, was born in 1739. He married Ann Griffith, daughter of Nathaniel Griffith, in 1763. The latter lived in Hilltown where stood the old tavern at Leidytown, and which property William Morris afterwards owned. They both died at the house of their son Isaac, at Line Lexington. His wife was born in 1744. William removed to Chester county in 1794, where he resided for a number of years. After the marriage of all his children he returned to Bucks County. He died April 22, 1821, at the age of eighty-two. His wife soon followed on the 17th of July, 1821, at the age of seventy-seven. William and Ann Morris had children, viz: Isaac, Benjamin, Morris, Eliam, William Jr, Griffith, Ann, Elizabeth and Huldah.
William Morris lived in New Britain for many years and at length sold his plantation; purchased in Chester County and removed there about the year 1794. There he lived for several years, until his children all got married & scattered about. He and his wife returned to Bucks County, being old and feeble, he was also affected with a paralytic stroke, which impaired his speech considerably, and reduced his strength He died at his son's Isaac Morris's, April 22, 1821, aged near 80 years, His wife had been very feeble for some time; and continued sinking until the 17th of July 1821 when she died. Aged near 80 years.
