- Carl K. Hassler, 78, of Myerstown, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.
He was the husband of Dawn M. (Sweigart) Hassler to whom he was married 56 years on March 17th.
Born in Marion Twp. on December 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Richard Jr. and Ella (Reedy) Hassler.
A 1957 graduate of Hamburg High School, Carl was employed at Hofmann Industries, Sinking Spring, later working at Quaker Alloy, Myerstown, for 20 years, and with Eugene Landis Construction.
He was a member of Myerstown UCC, the Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown; and Grundsau Lodge No. 17. A gifted woodworker, Carl made various oak crafts, selling them at area craft shows.
In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by a daughter, Lori E. Hassler, of Wernersville; a son, Troy M., husband of Jennifer Hassler, of Myerstown; grandchildren, Taryn, Austin, Damian, Sierra, Bryce, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Seth, and Emma; great grandchildren, Aiden and Carter; a sister, Betty, wife of Larry Bashore, of Robesonia; a brother, Martin, husband of Marlene Hassler, of Morgantown; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Hassler, of Myerstown. He was preceded in death by infant twin sisters, an infant brother, and brothers, William and Richard Hassler.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, with a visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be at New Union Cemetery, Myerstown.
