  Russell Etchberger, fatally injured yesterday afternoon when the bicycle he was riding was struck by an automobile near Brownsville, was aged 15 years and was a son of Harry and Verna (Valentine) Etchberger of Lower Heidelberg Township Wernersville R.D.1. Dr. George J. Stark, Berks coroner, issued a certificate of accidental death caused by a fractured skull. Young Etchberger had just been confirmed yesterday morning in Host Reformed Church by the Rev. E. S. Leinbach. Surviving besides his parents are these brothers and sisters: Private First Class John Etchberger, stationed at Atlanta, Ga.; Pearl, wife of Charles Schearer, Shoemakersville; Luke, of Rehrersburg; Jean, William, Robert, Phyllis, Ruby, Richard, Carolyn, and Linda at home; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Etchberger, Sinking Spring R. D.1, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Press [Cress] Valentine, of Rehrersburg. The Lamm Funeral Home of Wernersville, is in charge of arrangements. Reading Eagle, Oct. 12, 1942
