  Howard Eugene Reinert, 87, of Oley, passed away July 21, 2018 in ManorCare Laureldale. He is the husband of Gloria Ardell (Kohl) Reinert. Married on August 26, 1950 they shared 67 years of marriage. Born August 25, 1930 in Oley, he was a son of the late LeRoy Kurst and Elda Violet (Swavely) Reinert. He was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Penn High School. Howard was a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Zion Spies Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was employed for 16 years as a milkman for Muhlenberg Dairy and for 25 years with Carpenter Technology in Reading as a scheduler, before retiring in 1992. Howard was a member of the Oley Valley Music Association where he served as past president and Cub Master for Pack 508 Alsace Township. He loved living and working on his farm where he raised steers, boarded horses and grew Christmas trees. He also enjoyed entertaining his friends and family at his home, but most of all he loved attending music and sporting events for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State Football. He is survived by his children: Gary L. husband of Linda L. (Schlegel) Reinert of Alsace Township, William H. spouse of Alfred F. Daibach of Pine Plains, NY and Linda R. (Reinert) wife of Thomas A. Grace of Alburtis. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Michael L. Reinert of Cumru Township, David A. husband of Kellie (Evans) Reinert of Wilkes Barre and Todd A. Grace of Middletown. Great grandchildren: Abigail K. Reinert, Zachary M. Reinert, Ruby A. Reinert and Scarlet R. Reinert. He was preceded in death by his brother; Norman R. Reinert and his sister Elsie M. Seidel. Services will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10:00 am until time of services.
