  Henry Ault moved from Belmont County, OH to Brown County, IN. in 1854 with his parents George and Amy Battin Ault. He served in the Civil War in the same company as his brother Jessie, Company C, 6th Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Enlisted in Aug. 20, 1861. He served three years and nine months, was taken prisoner, contacted smallpox there. He was exchanged in 1864, sent home but re-enlisted in Hancocks Veteran Reserve Corps. Married Martha Ann Stockton Oct.20,1867 in Bartholomew County, IN. Moved to Illinois in 1884. Removed to Colorado and raised cattle, started a stage line. Retired in 1907, spent his remaning years in Los Angeles County , CA. After the death of Martha he lived in the Old Soldiers Home at Sawtell, CA. Compilation by Kenneth J. Reeve and Helen H. Reeve.
