FUNERAL SERVICES FOR WALTER C. RAUSCHER
Walter C. Rauscher, 78, Lockridge, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 1984, at the Henry County Health Center, Mt Pleasant, Ia.
He was born September 10, 1906, in Lockridge, the son of William Christian and Lena Schmidtlein Rauscher. He married Jessie Ford in January 1932 in Mt Pleasant, Ia.. She died in August 1939. They were parents of one son, Frederick Rauscher, Lockridge.
On April 18, 1942 he married Ruth Bower in Ft Madison, Ia. and they were the parents of one son and two daughters, William L. Lockridge, Christine and Mary, both of Palatine, Ill..
Also surviving are his wife, Ruth, six grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Kathryn Nicholson, Seattle, Wash.; Ruth Dyall, Hemet, Calif.; Paul Rauscher, San Jose, Calif.; and Russel Rauscher, Omaha, Neb..
His parents, and one brother preceded him in death.
Mr Rauscher was a graduate of Lockridge High School in 1927 and of Iowa Wesleyan College in 1931. He received his Master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1935.
Mr Rauscher was Superintendent of schools in Crawfordsville from 1931 to 1941. He owned the Rauscher Grain and Feed Co. in Lockridge from 1941 until retiring in 1979. He had spent most of his life in the Lockridge community and was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran church, Lockridge.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 1984 at the First Augustana Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lenwood Monte will officiate with internment in the Glasgow Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral home, Fairfield. A memorial has been established for his church.
