- 15 Aug 2007: Ralph B. Gerhart Sr., 83, Newmanstown, died Sunday at Lebanon VA Hospital. He was the widower of Jean L. (Fitterling) Gerhart who died Oct. 20, 1998. Born in Schaefferstown, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ada (Hollinger) Gerhart. He was a retired truck driver for Lebanon Chemical Corp. and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Marion and Womelsdorf Rod & Gun clubs, Mt. Aetna and Womelsdorf fire companies, Richland American Legion, Womelsdorf VFW, and Newmanstown Athletic Association. Surviving are sons Ralph B. Jr., Myerstown, Richard L. Sr., Womelsdorf, Kenneth L., Clearwater, FL, Terry G. Sr., Myerstown, Scott A., Newmanstown, and Michael A. Gerhart, Wernersville; daughters Louise M., wife of Harvey Herring Jr., Tremont, Cindy L., wife of Raymond Dunlap, Womelsdorf, Cindy L., wife of Raymond Dunlap, Womelsdorf, Donna L., wife of Jeffrey Donkel, Bethel, Mary J. Gerhart, residing with James Beidler, Womelsdorf, and Sherry L., wife of Roger Morgan Sr., Newmanstown. There are 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings John G., Alberta, Betty, Earl, Minerva, and Christine. Daughter Barbara A. Fisher died November 2005. Funeral Thursday at Hetrick Funeral Home, Womelsdorf.
