- Richard Lee Gerhart, Sr., 72, of Womelsdorf, passed away in the early morning hours Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Linda S. (neé Kantner) Gerhart, to whom he married December 30, 1967. Born December 2, 1948, in West Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph B. Gerhart, Sr. & Jean (neé Fitterling) Gerhart. He worked for Aluminum Alloys, Sinking Spring, and later for North American Refractories, Newmanstown. He most recently worked for Middle Creek Roofing. He was a lifetime member of Keystone Fire Co., Rehrersburg, American Legion Post 880, Richland, Newmanstown Athletic Club, and the Marion Twp. Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Lisa, wife of James Harnish, Richard L. Gerhart, Jr., husband of Rebekah, & Troy M Gerhart, husband of Kate; his grandchildren: Meagan Harnish, Alisha Baweic, Zachary Gerhart, Austin Weand, Ella Pearl Gerhart, Devon Gerhart, Ian Richard L Gerhart, Eli Gerhart, Jace Gerhart, & Leah Gerhart; his great-grandchildren: Ezekiel Gerhart & Lillian Gerhart; and his siblings: Ralph B. Gerhart, Sr., Kenneth Gerhart, Terry Gerhart, Scott Gerhart, Michael Gerhart, Louise Herring, Cindy Dunlap, Donna Dinkel, Mary Beidler, & Sherry Morgan. He was predeceased by his son: Corey A. Gerhart; and by his sister: Barbara Fisher.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, from 6-8 PM, at the Mull Funeral Home, 27 E. High St., Womelsdorf. Interment in Trinity UCC Cemetery, Rehrersburg will be private.
