Donald R. Wagner, 77, Shartlesville, died May 20, 2007, at 9 a.m. in his residence.
He was the husband of Alyse M. (Rentschler) Wagner.
Born in Womelsdorf, he was a son of the late Lester H. and Katie C. (Degler) Wagner.
He owned and operated Schaeffer and Wagner Plumbing and Heating Inc., Womelsdorf, for 49 years, until his retirement in 1994 after he sold the business in 1992. Donald was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6558, Womelsdorf, and a life member of Shartlesville Fire Company and Shartlesville Fish and Game Association. He also was a member of Max Schaeffer Veterans of Foreign Wars Home Association, Womelsdorf, the Hamburg American Legion, Mount Pleasant Fire Company, Shartlesville Lions Club, Pennsylvania Deitsch Dialect and Kultur Society, the local, state and national Plumbers Association, the Pennsylvania Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association, the Home Builders Association, the Family Motor Coach Association, the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America, Evergreen Country Club, Alsace Township, and Blue Mountain Senior Citizens.
Other survivors include a son, Lewis G., husband of Debra Wagner, Shartlesville; and two daughters, Susan E., wife of Eric S. George, Hamburg; and Lisa M., wife of David Newswanger Jr., Bernville. There are two sisters, Amelia Hertzog and Irene Marks, both of Womelsdorf; and five grandchildren: Brittany S., Madison E. and Morgan L. George, and Jared L. and Jordan G. Wagner; and a great-grandson, Blaine G. Heyer.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, with the Rev. Jerry Kulp and the Rev. Merrill Ressler officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Friedens Cemetery, Shartlesville. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
