- Beatrice J. Deiterich, 96, died April 15, 2007, which was four days short of her 97th birthday in Balanced Care of Bloomsburg, where she had resided since April 9.
She had been a resident at Loyalton of Bloomsburg for two years and prior to that Beatrice was a resident of Bloomsburg for 49 years.
Her husband, H. Paul Deiterich, died Jan. 21, 1986.
Beatrice was born April 19, 1910, in Mount Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Addison B. and Harriet (Kitchen) Kester.
She was a cashier and office clerk at Weis Markets for 22 years before her retirement in 1972.
She attended Kitchen’s School through seventh grade and was a 1929 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
She was a life member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Beatrice is survived by two sons, Wayne K. Deiterich and his wife, Ruthann, Sinking Spring, and Larry P. Deiterich and his wife, Josephine, Bloomsburg.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Miriam and Charlotte Kester; and two brothers, Thomas and Charles Kester. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her cousin, the Rev. Rodney Henry officiating. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be private in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
