- Following an illness of four weeks, due to complications, Mrs. Emma L. Klopp, widow of John D. Klopp, nee Lengel, died at her South Cherry Street home, aged 76 years. Mrs. Klopp was a native of North Heidelberg Township, Berks County, and prior to coming to Myerstown, was a resident of Mt. Aetna, where her husband was engaged in the store business for many years. He died about 8 years ago. The late Mrs. Klopp was a consistent member of Zion United Brethren church, always taking an active interest in the church and the Sunday school. She was also a member of the Woman’s Missionary Society and the Myerstown Woman’s Christian Temperance Union. She is survived by these children: Charles M., of Old Fort, Ohio; John H., at home; George E., of Indianapolis, Ind.; Job B., of Schenectady, N. Y.; Mrs. Harvey M. Fisher, of Mt. Aetna; Mrs. Tyrus Kilmer, of town; Mrs. Dawson K. Weigley, of Richland, and Mrs. Wayne Steiner, of Sunbury. There are 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Ellenora Lutz, of town, and Mrs. Annie A. Weiser, of Philadelphia. Two children, a son and a daughter, preceded their mother in death. The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock from her residence, on South Cherry Street. The services will be conducted in Zion, United Brethren church, by the pastor, Rev. D. E. Long. Interment will be made on the United Brethren cemetery. The arrangements are being made by Funeral Director Isaac N. Bahney. [Lebanon Semi Weekly News, January 31, 1927, Page 2]
