  Transcribed from The Daily Times, Van Wert, June 2, 1943. JOHN W. DAVIS TAKEN BY DEATH Lifelong Resident of County Dies at Ohio City; Funeral Friday John W. Davis, 78, lifelong resident of Van Wert County, died at 12:15 A.M. today at his home in Ohio City. He had been ill of complications the past five weeks. The deceased was a son of the late Hugh and Christina Davis. He is survived by two sons, Glenn C. of South Bend, Ind., and Donald W. Davis of West Lincoln Highway; six daughters, Mrs. O. C. Culp of Logan, Ohio, Mrs. Berle Adams of Rockford, Mrs. J. K. Pennell of Convoy and Miss Anita Davis of Covert, Mich., and two brothers Elmer of New York and Frank of Texas. Funeral services in charge of the Cowan & Son Funeral Home will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at Ohio City Methodist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Ralph Tucker, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be in Ridge cemetery.
