- F. Barbara Ward, age 79, of Sidney, passed away January 29, 2017 at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Sidney.
She was born January 18, 1938, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Edward and Mary Edna (Dickinson) Berndt.
She married Rodney H. Ward on December 22, 1957 and he preceded her in death August 3, 1997.
Barbara is survived by daughters; Denise and Bryan Boyd of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, Katherine and Randy Lochtefeld of Oregonia, Ohio, sons; Nevin and Molly Ward of Dayton, Ohio, Tom and Sherri Ward of Sidney, grandchildren; Jay and Emily Boyd of Chattanooga, TN., Amanda and Andrew Sharpe of Knoxville, TN., Adam and Sam Ward of Dayton, Ohio, Joshua and Kelli Ward of Sidney, April Abarca Ward and Jonathan of San Jose, Costa Rica, and great-grandchildren; Savanna Ward, Summer, Elijah, and Grace Abarca Ward.
One sister, Katherine Berndt preceded her in death.
Barbara was a member of the Pemberton United Methodist Church in Pemberton. She was an RN Administrator in Shelby County for 40 years. She was very proud of graduating in 1958 from the Miami Valley Hospital of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio. She loved to travel, garden and spend time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with the Rev. Barbara Staley, officiating. A private family burial will follow at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Billy Graham Association.
