  Death of Moses Whitson - It is some two or three weeks since we casually heard of this saddening event, but as our acquaintance with the deceased was too slight to qualify us to write such an obituary as seemed to be due to his worth, we naturally waited for a notice from the pen oof someone acquainted with the circumstances attending his death, and whose intimacy with him would enable him to speak in appropriate terms of his life and character. But we have waited thus far in vain. We do not know his age nor the date of his decease, but we do know that he was a man of sterling worth, a devoted friend of the slave and of universal humanity and that his loss will be deeply felt, not only by his bereaved family, but by the neighborhood in which he resided and by abolitionists generally. No fear of being denounced as a traitor, or of having his property wrested from him by iniquitous laws, ever deterred him from giving shelter and a warm God speed to the fugitive. *** Pennsylvania Freeman (Philadelphia, PA.
