- Nancy Wall Hackman, 84, of Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hackman was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Harrisburg, Pa., and was the daughter of the late John H. Wall and Irene Eckert.
She was a retired music teacher for Harrisonburg City Schools and Blue Ridge Community College, as well as music director of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Her love for music continued beyond her retirement, and included teaching many private music students and playing the piano at First Church of the Brethren.
Her husband, Roger Hackman, preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn Grandle and husband, Robert, of Hampton, Gail Pack of Hagerstown, Md., Beth Harter and husband, Stuart, of Mount Crawford, and Dawn Perez and husband, Gregg, of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Jane Shisslak; three grandchildren, John Pack, Rachael Pack and Margot Harter; and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dan King will conduct a memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. Burial will be private.
