- Patricia A. Essig, 71, of Virginia Beach, VA, and formerly of Berks and Columbia Counties, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Virginia Beach.
Her husband, Barry L. Essig died April 5, 2013.
Born in Reading on July 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Helen (Rank) Gaul.
She was a graduate of Wilson High School.
Since 2001 she was the Deli Manager at the Walmart in Virginia Beach.
She is survived by four daughters, Lori A. wife of Robert Fidler, Jr., West Reading; Lisa M. Krisik, Virginia Beach; Lynn A. Essig, Denver, CO; and Lydia L. Kachurka, Millville, PA; a brother, Glenn Gaul, Catawissa, PA; a sister, Louise Barr, Lynchburg, VA; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Patricia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an avid gardener who loved to cook, bake, and take trips to Lancaster County.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 16th at 1:00pm in St. John's (Hain's) U.C.C., Wernersville, with Rev. Dr. Jon A. Fogle officiating.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00pm at the Church.
Inurnment will follow at Hain's Church Cemetery.
